Elections for all seven board of director seats of the hemp building trade association are taking place online. Voting for leadership of the US Hemp Building Association ends December 9. <\/p>\n

Twelve association members are running for seven seats, including president, vice president, secretary, treasurer and three directors-at-large. <\/p>\n

The president, vice president and treasurer positions are unopposed and sought by candidates Ray Kaderli (New Braunfels, TX), Ryan Doherty (Boulder, CO) and Michael Knight (Charleston, SC) respectively. <\/p>\n

Two candidates running for secretary include Chelsey Keyes (Knoxville, TN) and Jean Lotus (Fort Collins, CO). (Full disclosure, Jean Lotus is publisher of HempbuildMag.com).<\/em><\/p>\n

Seven candidates are running for three positions as director at large. These are Matthew Bruce (Hackettstown, NJ); Alex Escher (Dorset VT); Nathaniel Hicks, Jr. (Baltimore, MD); Micaela Isabel Machado (Tucson, AZ); Tai Olson (Chicago, IL); Wayne Richman (Sherman Oaks, CA) and Alexander Sexsmith (Santa Fe, NM).<\/p>\n

In a November 29 online members-only meeting of USHBA members discussed how the organization was poised for growth since the certification of hemp-lime insulation in US building codes <\/a>and that the organizations 10 regional leaders would have more influence building regional activities and attending building expos, as opposed to hemp and cannabis events. The organization and its nonprofit arm, the US Hemp Building Foundation, work to bring educational activities <\/a>to members. <\/p>\n
